CAIR-Chicago filed an employment discrimination case against a local county’s department of corrections on behalf of a Muslim man.
A Muslim man was working as a corrections officer for a local county. During his tenure the department adopted a new clean shave policy. The Muslim man informed the department that he would not be shaving his beard because of religious reasons. The issue was brought to the sheriff and two days later he was asked to resign. CAIR-Chicago will continue to represent the man to gain a positive resolution to this issue.
