The Council for a Parliament of the World’s Religions was created to cultivate harmony among the world’s religious and spiritual communities and foster their engagement with the world and its guiding institutions in order to achieve a just, peaceful and sustainable world. Luminaries in attendance include His Holiness the Dalai Lama and His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. About 250 traditions and 10,000 people from around the world are expected to attend this event. The theme of the conference is: “Hearing each other, healing the earth.”
Rehab will speak on four panels on December 6rd, 7th, and 9th: The Challenge of Islamophobia and the Media: How Innovative Dialogue is Changing the Landscape, The Role of Media in Conflict Resolution, Religion and Global Media, and Leadership Among Muslim Males in the Post-9/11 Era. Times are available in the program booklet which can be downloaded from the Parliament’s website.
In 2004, Rehab had participated at Parliament sessions held in Kenya that explored refugee issues.
“The parliament is a place where faith instigates meaningful dialogue, and dialogue instigates meaningful action. I look forward to being inspired,” Rehab said.
