Daily Herald: Justice Department, Des Plaines settle suit over Muslim worship request

On June 2, 2017 the Daily Herald reports:

“The U.S. Justice Department and Des Plaines have settled a lawsuit claiming the city unfairly denied a Muslim group from opening a place of worship.

The agreement will require city employees to undergo training, mail notifications and report compliance stemming from the discrimination lawsuit filed by the Society of American Bosnians and Herzegovinians, a group including immigrants who fled war-torn Yugoslavia in the 1990s.

┬áThe Council on American-Islamic Relations plans to hold a news conference Tuesday to discuss the lawsuit and agreement.”
