Community and religious groups will protest in downtown Chicago on Friday after a Muslim man found his father’s grave desecrated at an Evergreen Park cemetery, an apparent act of vandalism that follows two other incidents targeting Muslim institutions.
(CHICAGO, 8/17/2012) — The Chicago office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Chicago) said today that Muslim graves at the Evergreen cemetery in Evergreen Park, Ill., have been spray-painted with anti-Islam hate graffiti.
“The reprehensible attack against this Jewish congregation is an insult to all of us,” said Ahmed Rehab, executive director of CAIR-Chicago. “An attack against one house of worship is an attack against every house of worship.”
