CAIR-Chicago’s Staff Attorney Rabya Khan and Communications Coordinators Aymen Abdel Halim and Leena Saleh visited Greyhound employees on March 12th and 13th to deliver cultural awareness presentations in an effort to improve customer relations and to gain a better understanding of the American-Muslim community.

On November 15th, Gerald Hankerson, CAIR-Chicago’s Outreach Coordinator, conducted an event planning workshop for the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights’ (ICIRR) “Uniting America” fellowship. Hankerson trained 18 fellows on how to reach out to the community.
CAIR-Chicago Communications Coordinator Amina Sharif spoke to the Islamic Center of Naperville’s Youth Group on Sunday, November 13th, about how to be an effective Muslim leader. The audience included about 100 middle school and high school students from the Naperville area.
Representatives from CAIR-Chicago will be part of the American Islamic College’s Islam 101 series this July-August.
Tonight, CAIR-Chicago Executive Director Ahmed Rehab will discuss contemporary Islamic issues including Muslim-West relations, Islamophobia, Islam in the Media, and the Obama administration’s performance in terms of relations to Muslims at home and abroad.

CAIR-Chicago Government Affairs Coordinator Reema Ahmad will be speaking on a panel at a workshop titled “Public Policy and Governance” at the Community Builders Chicago 4th Annual Convention on Memorial Day. The theme of this year’s convention is “The Evolving Role of Mosques in America,” with workshops focusing on empowering the Muslim community and networking within the larger society.
