Executive Director Speaks at MECCA Interfaith Iftar

CAIR-Chicago’s Executive Director, Yaser Tabbara, spoke today at the Muslim Educational and Cultural Center’s (MECCA) third annual interfaith Iftar (breaking of the fast) marking the first day of Ramadan.
In attendance were Chicago Muslim and interfaith leaders, law enforcement and elected officials, as well as mayors, village trustees, and chiefs of police from Burr Ridge, Hinsdale, Oak Brook, Willowbrook, Darien, and Westmont. The event was covered by Channel 9 WGN TV. Tabbara emphasized the spirit of sharing in Ramadan by highlighting similar events taking place by other Chicagoland area Muslims, particularly those that cater to our community’s homeless.
