On Thursday, October 17th at 12 pm, a Know Your Rights workshop took place at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The event was presented by Rabya Khan of CAIR-Chicago, organized by the ACLU chapter located within Champaign, and co-sponsored by Dima Khalidi of Palestine Solidarity Legal Support and the National Lawyers Guild. It took place in Law Room C at the UIUC College of Law. The event was open to students of the University at no cost.
CAIR-Chicago’s Know Your Rights workshops are a part of the Civil Rights Department’s educational outreach. They aim to provide community members with information about what rights individual citizens have when encountering law enforcement, immigration agents, or federal organizations such as the FBI.
If you would like to request a Know Your Rights presentation for your mosque, high school, university, or other group, please fill out this form on the CAIR-Chicago website.
