Film Screening: Faith in Freedom –The Journey of Muslim American Candidates

CAIR-Chicago welcomes you to our office for a documentary screening created by Voice of America (VOA) Midwest Correspondent Kane Farabaugh.

The film is free and open to the public.


The 30-minute short film follows the 2016 primary campaigns of four Muslim American immigrants seeking office in city, state, and national government.Their backgrounds and circumstances are as diverse as the obstacles and barriers before them as they seek to become the first to represent this small but growing part of the American landscape.


A panel discussion will follow the screening, featuring Farabaugh and local Muslim Americans who sought political office, including Harish I. Patel who is featured in the documentary.
