The Jewish-Muslim Community Building Initiative, presented by the Jewish Council on Urban Affairs and CAIR-Chicago, is holding a discussion and study of Jewish and Muslim texts in relation to youth and social change, in recognition of International Human Rights Day. The meeting will be hosted at the KnockBox Cafe, led by a rabbi and an imam from the Chicago area, and will feature discourse on the role of youth leadership in social progress.

DePaul’s Center for Interreligious Engagement (CIE) is hosting a panel discussion that will assess how academia shapes discourse on race and religion.
Gerald Hankerson, CAIR-Chicago’s Outreach Coordinator, will travel with a dozen Chicago area community leaders involved in interfaith to Turkey.
CAIR-Chicago will participate in the 3rd Annual “In Good Faith Series”, a trilateral Abrahamic interfaith dialogue hosted by the Catholic Theological Union.

CAIR-Chicago will host Elderhostel’s Days of Discovery “Bridge To Islam” program, on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 and Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at the Orland Park Prayer Center. Elderhostel is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing extraordinary learning adventures for people 55 and over.
