Chicago Jews and Muslims united at the Anshe Sholom B’nai Israel Congregation in the Lakeview neighborhood on the North Side on Monday, September 22nd, for “Iftar in the Synagogue,” a special interfaith event that drew both groups together to eat, pray, learn and discuss the similarities of their faith.
On October 1, 2007, CAIR-Chicago joined members of the Jewish Council on Urban Affairs (JCUA) for the annual “Iftar in the Sukkah” at the Anshe Sholom B’nai Israel synagogue in Lakeview.
As part of the Muslims Care project, CAIR-Chicago is collaborating with a domestic violence shelter in Lakeview to spend an afternoon with children of domestic violence homes.
